What is a “Premix”?
Millers process cereal grains in various ways and present them as a variety of either meals, flours or kibbled grains. Many of these may be used as ingredients in a recipe for baked products.
When Laucke produce a Premix for a specific baked product such as Multigrain Bread, a recipe is developed, and all the appropriate ingredients are sourced that are required to produce that product. Laucke then mixes these ingredients together in the correct proportions so that only the addition of yeast and water are then required by the consumer.
This mixed product is termed a “Premix“.
