Margherita Pizza

 

A simple and classic pizza originating from Naples, Italy. The toppings are designed to represent the colours of the Italian flag.

2 each Pizza Bases, made using Laucke Pizza & Focaccia Mix 2 each
150 g Passata (Tomato Puree) ⅗ cup
2 each Fresh Tomatoes 2 each
1 clove Crushed fresh garlic 1 clove
1¼ g Salt ¼ tsp
1 g Sugar ¼ tsp
⅞ g Oregano ½ tsp
Olive Oil
Shredded Mozzarello Cheese
Fresh Basil or fresh rocket leaves

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 240°C.

  2. Prepare 2 large pizza bases using Laucke Pizza & Focaccia Mix.

  3. Mix tomato passata, crushed garlic, salt, sugar, oregano and a tablespoon of olive oil, combining all ingredients thoroughly.

  4. Spoon sauce onto pizza bases and spread evenly.

  5. Slice fresh tomatoes and place on top of sauce.

  6. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella on top of pizza, and bake in oven until cheese has melted.

  7. Remove from oven, top with fresh basil or rocket, and finish off with a splash of good olive oil.

  8. Cut, serve and enjoy.
