Turtle Brownies

100 g | Shortening | 7¾ tbsp |
5 g | Vanilla Essence | 1 tsp |
100 g | Egg | 2 x 50 g |
105 g | Laucke Wallaby Flour | ⅗ cup |
42 g | Cocoa Powder | ½ cup |
3 g | Baking Powder | ⅔ tsp |
1 g | Salt | ⅛ tsp |
75 g | Chopped Pecans or Walnuts | ½ cup |
Method
Preheat oven to 175°C.
Mix sugar, shortening, vanilla and eggs in a mixing bowl.
Stir in the flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt.
Spread batter onto a prepared baking tray, sprinkle the chopped nuts over the batter before baking.
Baking temperature 175°C.
Baking time 20 to 25 minutes or until a cake skewer inserted in the centre comes out clean.
Whilst still warm, drizzle with melted caramel and allow to cool completely, then cut into squares.
